Guests and staff at the Plaza Hotel say the ghost of early owner and one-time mayor Byron T. Mills lingers in Room 310, which was his office, with the smell of cigar smoke and old cologne, imprints appearing on the bed and belongings rearranged; staff describe him as harmless, and visitors request the room hoping for an encounter. Other reports include a child's voice calling "Grandma" in the basement and a little girl guests call Annie on the second floor. The Ghost Adventures crew investigated the hotel, reporting a spirit said to target women, and the hotel's owner has said he doesn't necessarily believe the place is haunted. The Plaza opened in 1882 on the old plaza of Las Vegas, New Mexico, a brick Italianate hotel with a long and varied past; it was renovated in 2014 and operates today.
Operating hotel, restaurant and bar on the plaza; ask about Room 310 when booking.
