The Hempfield Tunnel in Wheeling, a stop on West Virginia's Paranormal Trail, is an old railroad tunnel beneath the Tunnel Green park. Local legend says it is haunted by a man from the early 1900s who was killed by a train and that it is pitch black even in daylight.
Public park above the tunnel with a trail; the tunnel is not lit, so use care and stay on the marked route.
