The Archive of the Afterlife in Moundsville, opened in 2012 by Steve Hummel and now housed in the Sanford Center, bills itself as the National Museum of the Paranormal. Its collection of reportedly haunted objects includes dolls, an embalming table and a portrait of a woman named Annie that visitors say they find unsettling and that the curators cannot explain. The state's tourism site lists it among West Virginia's oddball museums. The haunted claims about the objects are the owner's and visitors' and cannot be verified.
Small museum with donation admission and irregular hours; check its Facebook page or call 304-231-7134 before you go.
