Dedicated in 1926, Le Mans Hall is the second-oldest building on Saint Mary's College's campus and still its most recognizable, serving today as both the administration building and a residence hall. Its six-story bell tower is central to the campus's best-known ghost story: legend holds that the ghost of a young woman who died by suicide there still appears in the tower. Students have also reported unexplained footsteps, toilets flushing and phones ringing with no one there, and motion detectors triggering in the empty basement — along with older stories of blood spots on the fourth-floor infirmary floor, tied to a girl who died there.
Le Mans Hall is both a residence hall and the administration building. The campus grounds are open to walk through, but dorm floors are not open to the public.
