The towering, fifteen-foot monument over Michael Bashor's grave — he died in 1880 at 74, and helped found what became the Bashor Children's Home — is topped by a life-size angel statue holding a partially draped urn. The reddish-brown mineral staining that has streaked down the statue's face and robe over the decades is the real source of the local legend that the angel weeps tears of blood.
City cemetery, closed from dusk to dawn. Visit in daylight and treat the graves with respect.
