Ringwood Manor is a nearly 200-year-old 51-room mansion in Ringwood State Park, built on the site of a Revolutionary-era ironworks and now a museum of the families who lived here, including Robert Erskine, mapmaker to George Washington. Three ghosts are said to frequent the property, and the only one named is Erskine, seen by dozens of witnesses early in the morning sitting on the lake shore and walking the path from the lake to the house. Others report an old man walking the grounds and unsettled feelings in the house. Enchanted Evening tours tell the legends and end with a lantern-lit walk to the cemetery.
Guided tours of the interior are offered Wednesday through Sunday from May, and the grounds are open; evening legend tours run on select dates. Check the manor for current times.
