The Rensselaer D. Hubbard House in Mankato is a Second Empire mansion built in 1871 for the founder of the Hubbard Milling Company and now a museum of the Blue Earth County Historical Society. Staff say that even after the house closes for the night, some spirits still walk the halls. Visitors have described ghostly laughter, running footsteps, a strange mist drifting from room to room, and a man in an old-fashioned suit sleeping in the main bedroom who vanishes when approached, thought by some to be the builder.
Open for tours on a limited schedule, Friday through Sunday; check the Blue Earth County Historical Society's site for hours and admission.
