The Dobbin House on Steinwehr Avenue was built in 1776 by Reverend Alexander Dobbin as a house and school; it is said to have been a station on the Underground Railroad and served as a field hospital after the Battle of Gettysburg, treating both Union and Confederate wounded. It is now a colonial-style restaurant and inn and a regular stop on Gettysburg ghost tours, which tell of the spirits of soldiers, children and a nurse.
Working restaurant (the formal Alexander Dobbin dining rooms and the Springhouse Tavern) and inn; it is a stop on Gettysburg ghost tours.
