White Rock Lake, a reservoir created in 1912, is one of Dallas's best-loved parks, with trails around the water. Its best-known legend is the Lady of the Lake: a woman in a wet 1920s evening gown said to ask drivers for a ride to a house on Gaston Avenue and vanish, leaving a damp stain on the seat. The story is told as folklore and is attributed to a woman who drowned after a car crashed into the lake. The pin marks the lake rather than a specific sighting.
Public park open daily with trails; the park closes at night, so respect posted hours.
