Built in 1942, Getman-Babcock is Piedmont University's oldest dormitory. Generations of students have reported an orange, human-shaped outline in the lobby, a little girl in a blue dress and dressy black shoes seen on the lobby stairs, and a laundry room door handle that turns on its own when the door is shut. No one knows where the stories originated, and the college has never issued an official statement on the matter, but the legend remains one of the most consistently repeated ghost stories on campus, discussed in the student newspaper and passed down between residents year after year.
Getman-Babcock is a student residence hall on Piedmont University's campus. It is not open to the public. View from the campus grounds only.
