Madison Seminary is a red-brick building completed in 1857 as a school, later used from 1891 as a home for Civil War nurses and the widows and female relatives of fallen soldiers, and afterward as a state facility. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It has a reputation as one of Ohio's most haunted places and was investigated on Ghost Hunters ("There's Something in the Seminary") and Destination Fear, whose crews reported voices, shadow figures and physical contact. It is privately owned. The widows, nurses and later residents who lived here are remembered alongside the ghost stories.
Private property and not open to the public. It can be seen from Middle Ridge Road; do not trespass or enter the grounds.
