The Grand Opera House in Macon, now the Piedmont Grand Opera House, is a historic theater on Mulberry Street that has hosted performers for well over a century and is a favorite stop on Macon ghost tours. Its best-known ghost is Randell Widner, a theater director and classical pianist who died there in 1971 while managing renovations, and a seat is still reserved for him at performances. A lady in white is also said to appear. 13WMAZ and the Macon Melody have reported the theater's own ghost stories, which staff share openly.
Working performing arts theater; the easiest way in is a ticket to a show, and Macon ghost walking tours begin outside. Check the theater's site for its season.
