At the Hunter Arms Hotel, a spirit guests and staff call Vivian is said to welcome visitors, with reports of strange noises, sudden coldness, doors slamming, and faucets turning on by themselves. Ohio mausoleum builder Grover C. Hunter came to St. Cloud in 1925 and hired architect Harlan Jones and contractor W.A. Steffle to build this Mediterranean Revival hotel, which opened in 1927 as a winter-season property where guests paid a flat seasonal rate covering a room and two daily meals. After Hunter's death in 1953, his wife Nona ran the hotel for years; it was restored into a bed and breakfast in 1994 by Ann Young and Sandi Pinkert, and ADMC International bought the building in 2016 and has continued restoring it since.
