At Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 6001 W. 111th Street in Worth, pilgrims still visit the grave of Mary Alice Quinn, known locally as Chicago's Miracle Child. Mary Alice, a devoutly religious girl regarded by many as a healer, died at fourteen and was buried in her family's Reilly plot. Visitors have reported the strong scent of roses at her grave even in winter, though no rose bushes grow anywhere nearby, and some say they've seen her apparition at the gravesite. To this day people leave candles, religious items, and written prayer requests at the headstone.
Working Catholic cemetery with daily visiting hours. Keep clear of services, stay on the roads and paths, and treat the graves with respect.
