The 1891 Zalud House in Porterville is a museum with the family's original furnishings. Its haunting centers on a chair in which the Zaluds' son-in-law William Brooks was shot in 1917; the chair, with bullet holes, is on display and visitors may not sit in it. Ghost Adventures featured the house in 2016, and the city offers paranormal tours in October.
City-run house museum open limited days; call ahead for hours.
