White Point Garden, at the tip of Charleston's peninsula, is the public park beside the Battery seawall. In 1718 the pirate Stede Bonnet and several dozen of his crew were hanged on the waterfront here, and Charleston ghost tours say the spirits of the pirates walk the park looking for their executioners. The park is also ringed with Civil War cannons and monuments.
Free public park open daily; the Charleston ghost tours (such as Bulldog Tours) pass through at night.
