The Washington Pavilion in downtown Sioux Falls is an arts and science center in the former Washington High School, built in 1908 and remodeled in the 1990s and 2000s. Travel South Dakota lists it among the state's haunted places: a spirit is said to ride the elevators and to tamper with soundboards, lights and props. Staff also tell of a construction worker who died in an elevator shaft during the remodeling, and of footsteps and a sense of being watched.
Public arts and science center with a theater, museum and Kirby Science Discovery Center; check hours.
