Doner Auditorium on the South Dakota State University campus in Brookings is the school's main performance hall. Travel South Dakota's list names it for the ghost of a janitor who died in 1919 after falling from an alcove above the stage, where a theater organ stood; the organ is said to have played by itself for years afterward, and he is blamed for playing pranks with props and lights and for electrical problems if a certain prop is moved. The pin marks the campus.
A working campus performance hall; open for events and by arrangement. The grounds are public, but the building is not open at all hours.
