The Gray House on Alcaniz Street faces the Dorr House across Seville Square and has been part of Pensacola's ghost-tour lore for generations, tied to the legend of an 18th-century sea captain named Thomas Moristo. Residents have reported a stove found switched off after being left on, paint supplies moved overnight, and a man seen peering through the windows when the house sits vacant. The house once suffered a serious fire, and locals say the spirit's mischief is really an attempt to prevent it from happening again.
Occupied by an architecture firm's offices, so it is not open to the public. You can see the exterior from Seville Square in Pensacola's historic district, and it is on the route of local ghost walking tours.
