The Grand Opera House in Oshkosh opened in 1883 and still hosts performances. Its resident ghost is Percy Keene, a stage manager who worked there from 1895 to 1967 and who is described as a smiling presence in round glasses. During renovations in the 1980s, crews saw his face in the windows and took him for a night watchman, and a film director shooting a movie there said he saw Percy smiling from the balcony. The theatre runs ghost tours, and other spirits are said to stay in the basement.
