The Galloway House in Fond du Lac is a 30-room Italianate mansion built in 1880 by Edwin H. Galloway and now part of a historic village run by the Fond du Lac County Historical Society. Employees and visitors describe the sound of people moving and talking when the house is empty, children giggling in the upstairs playroom, plates clattering in the kitchen and apparitions of former residents. The village has hosted ghost-themed hunts and events. The house is open for tours on a limited summer schedule.
Open for guided tours on set days in summer, on the hour; check the historical society's site for the season and any ghost events.
