Old St. Patrick's Cemetery, consecrated in 1849 along Mill Creek Road, is the reputed resting place of a woman locals call Bloody Mary Worth — a legend that has drawn paranormal investigators and ghost hunters to the cemetery for years. Visitors report glowing tombstones and sudden chills; the surrounding woods, once home to a house, barn, and animal shelter that are all long gone, have also drawn a reputation as a gathering spot for less savory visitors over the years.
Historic Catholic cemetery run by the Archdiocese of Chicago, open daily during posted hours. Keep clear of services, stay on the paths, and treat the graves with respect.
