Silver Reef was a silver-mining boomtown that grew from a camp founded in 1866 to some 2,000 people by 1879 and then faded as the mines played out, and today the restored 1877 Wells Fargo building holds the Silver Reef Museum beside the ruins and a small pioneer cemetery. The Silver Reef Cemetery has been named among Utah's spookiest, with local legend of a woman in a white dress seen near the bluff who fades in the wind, and a Halloween ghost walk has been held here.
Museum with limited hours (check before you go) and free access to the old townsite and cemetery; there are no services, so bring water.
