Shiloh Cemetery, also known as Shiloh Baptist Cemetery or the Friendship and Union Lodge Cemetery, is one of five historic burial grounds collectively making up Sanford Cemetery and holds more than 500 recorded burials. Long neglected and vandalized, it has drawn renewed community interest in recent years toward restoring it. Visitors and locals describe a full-bodied female apparition known as the Lady of Shiloh, seen wandering the clearing at night; her identity and connection to the cemetery have never been established, and some who've encountered her describe her appearance as unsettling. Reports also include unexplained noises and eerie lights after dark.
Historic Black community cemetery, part of the Sanford cemetery complex and reached by a dirt road past Page Jackson Cemetery. Visit during daylight, walk quietly, and treat it as the burial ground of local families.
