Founded in 1894 by the Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Meeting Association, Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp is a small historic community of mediums and psychics southwest of DeLand, and one of the oldest active spiritualist camps in the country. Visitors and residents describe it as unusually charged, reporting a heavy, energized feeling that many attribute to the camp's location on what some believe is a geomagnetic vortex. Readings, séances, and tours are open to the public through the camp's bookstore and hotel.
Working religious community that welcomes visitors, and entering the camp is free. Start at the bookstore and welcome center on Stevens Street. Readings with the resident mediums are by appointment, and guided history tours run on set days. Most buildings are private homes, so stay on the public streets and respect residents.
