The ghost of Benjamin Miles, a local settler said to have died in the 1840s and buried here in an unmarked grave, is reported as a shadowy figure in period clothing throughout the cemetery, the adjacent woods, and the fields across the street. The legend, documented in Amanda Branham's book on Central Florida hauntings, describes him as an angry presence accompanied by a sudden chill and the call of an owl said to warn of his approach, most often reported on fall and winter nights.
Small historic cemetery, also called the Drawdy-Rouse Cemetery. Visit during daylight and treat the graves with respect. The grave of Benjamin Miles is unmarked and its exact spot is unknown, so don't dig or disturb the ground looking for it.
