The Palmer House Hotel in Sauk Centre was built in 1901 on the site of an earlier hotel that burned in 1900, and it is often called the most haunted hotel in Minnesota. Guests and staff describe voices and sudden temperature changes, doors slamming, furniture rearranged, apparitions and the sound of children running or bouncing a ball in the hallways. Ghost Adventures investigated the hotel in an October 2012 episode, and it has also been featured on Hotel Paranormal and My Ghost Story. The hotel still takes guests and offers a dining room.
An operating hotel with a restaurant and bar; rooms can be booked. Check the hotel's site for dining hours.
