The Old Jail Bed and Breakfast in Taylors Falls occupies buildings put up between 1851 and 1884 that served as a jail, a bootleggers' hideout and a funeral home, and it is billed as the oldest registered bed and breakfast in Minnesota. Guests describe a young boy on the second and third floors, a woman seen in the third-floor halls and a spirit nicknamed Big Wally, a large man said to be a former inmate seen in the jail cell room. Cell doors that slam, shadowy figures in the corners and the feeling of being watched are common reports. The inn has four guest rooms, so stays are by reservation.
