Marysville grew after Tommy Cruse found gold on Silver Creek in 1876 and held about 3,000 people in the 1880s and 1890s around the Drumlummon Mine, named for his Irish parish. It declined after the 1890s depression, a 1910 fire and the railroad's departure in 1925. About eighty people live here today among historic buildings, including an 1898 Masonic lodge and an 1886 Methodist-Episcopal church, with a restaurant in a restored depot.
A semi-ghost town about 25 miles northwest of Helena; the bar and restaurant keep seasonal hours.
