Greenhorn boomed from about 1910 to 1915 with two hotels, a post office, fire hydrants, stores and saloons, then collapsed after the 1942 gold-mining ban. Cabins and buildings stand among lodgepole pines, and its 1910 jail was famously carted to nearby Canyon City one night in 1963.
