Fort Gratiot Lighthouse at the mouth of the St. Clair River dates to the 1820s and is one of the oldest surviving lighthouses on the Great Lakes. The ghost is said to be a former keeper, Bob Hanford, and visitors have reported temperature drops and the feeling of someone else on the stairs. The Motor City Ghost Hunters have held investigations at the site and say they witnessed activity. Port Huron Museums offers guided tours of the lighthouse and keeper's quarters, and the stories are part of its local lore.
Guided tours are offered by Port Huron Museums in season; check the museum's schedule and admission.
