Fort Caspar Museum in Casper is a reconstruction of the Platte Bridge Station and Fort Caspar, an overland-trail and Army post on the North Platte River, with a museum and a cemetery. A Wyoming agricultural publication calls it near the top of the list of the state's most ghostly places, and staff tell of footsteps of hobnailed boots echoing in the empty museum, a door that cannot be opened and a boy in suspenders who ran past a staff member and vanished. The museum runs paranormal investigation nights each April and October.
City museum with seasonal hours; paranormal investigations are ticketed events in spring and fall, so check the museum or call 307-235-8462.
