Built in 1925 by Aymer Vinoy Laughner and known locally as "The Pink Lady," the Vinoy was a roaring-twenties resort hotel that closed in the 1970s, fell into disrepair, and was restored and reopened in 1992. Visiting baseball players — the hotel has long hosted spring-training teams — have repeatedly reported a man in a top hat and long coat standing beside the bed at night, doors that unlock and slam on their own, flickering lights, and a feeling of pressure on the chest while asleep. A woman in white is also reported on the fifth floor, and guests have described hearing music from an empty ballroom.
Operating resort whose restaurants and bars are open to the public. Rooms and pools are for guests.
