Local legend holds that a railroad worker was decapitated by an oncoming train at this trestle, and that his spirit still searches for his lost head. Visitors report hearing phantom train whistles and feeling the tracks vibrate even when no train is near, along with a mysterious white light approaching on the bridge that some say is the worker's search light. Others describe being chased out of the surrounding woods by an unseen figure. The legend has circulated in Griffin for years and appears on several independent haunted-places listings.
Railroad trestle on a rail line. Trespassing on the tracks is illegal and dangerous, and the story appears to be local folklore. Do not walk on the trestle.
