The Aaron and Margaret Parker Jr. House, built around 1830, is one of the oldest surviving houses in Rockdale County and stands at the entrance to what was Southerness Golf Club. Staff and golfers have reported a chair rocking on its own in an upstairs room, blue lights swaying in the windows at night, and moaning and commotion coming from inside the historic house after hours.
Historic house on state-owned land that was formerly the Southerness Golf Club, which the state closed in 2004. Public access to the house is not guaranteed, so check with the Georgia DNR before making the trip.
