The Smith-Trahern Mansion in Clarksville is an Italianate house built in the late 1850s above the Cumberland River, now owned by the city. The ghost story concerns Lucy Smith, said to be waiting for her husband Christopher's return and seen as a white, flowing figure in the upper windows and walking the widow's walk. Local news has retold the legend for years. The house has been closed for renovation, so it can be seen only from the street.
Closed for renovation at last report and not open for tours; check with Clarksville Parks and Recreation before visiting. It can be viewed from the street.
