Murtaugh, Idaho

Built in 1908, Sidewinders has served for most of its history as Murtaugh's main gathering spot — message center, watering hole, card room, and more — through hard years for the town, nearby Milner Dam's irrigation workers, and Union Pacific railroad crews. Over the years, many have reported a passing shadow, heard laughter, or caught the saloon's piano playing faintly in the distance, usually when only one or two patrons remain after everyone else has cleared out. Most notably, the volume on the stereo or jukebox will jump to full blast with no one nearby to have touched it. No haunting experience reported at Sidewinders has ever been described as threatening or harmful.
