The Roads Hotel in Atlanta, Indiana, is a Queen Anne mansion built in 1893 by Newton Roads and run by his wife Clara as a hotel serving the railroad, with guests said to include criminals such as John Dillinger. The Roads family suffered several deaths in the building, including their son Everett, who had tuberculosis, and during Prohibition it was reportedly a speakeasy and brothel. Visit Indiana lists it among the state's haunted places, and Fox 59 has called it one of Indy's most haunted places. The Lost Limbs Foundation, which owns it, runs public paranormal investigations, and guests report apparitions of men, women and children, lights switching on and doors opening. The hotel no longer takes overnight guests.
Not a working hotel; public ghost hunts run on scheduled nights (about $45, often until around 2 am), with proceeds supporting the Lost Limbs Foundation. Book through the foundation or the Hamilton County tourism listing.
