Hahns Peak began as a placer-gold camp in the 1860s and served as the Routt County seat from 1877 until 1912, when Steamboat Springs took over. A dozen or so historic buildings remain along its main street, including the 1911 schoolhouse, the Withers Cabin, and a small museum run by the Hahns Peak Area Historical Society. People still live here, so it is a historic village more than an empty ghost town.
Small summer museum and walking-tour village north of Steamboat Springs; check the historical society for hours.
