The Battleship North Carolina, commissioned in 1941 and now a museum ship on the Cape Fear River at Wilmington, took part in every major Pacific naval offensive of World War II, with 10 crewmen killed in action. Staff and volunteers report shadowy figures that appear and disappear, a figure in a World War II Navy uniform who joins tours, cold drafts in the lower levels and voices on recordings. The ship has hosted late-night ghost hunts, and the Ghost Hunters team visited it.
Open daily as a museum ship with self-guided tours and ticketed late-night ghost hunts on select dates; check the ship for hours.
