St. Ignatius Hospital in Colfax was built by the Sisters of Providence, who laid its cornerstone in June 1893 and ran it as the hospital for the Palouse until 1964. From 1964 until 2000 it was a residential care facility for people with developmental disabilities, and it has stood empty since, now with a reputation as haunted. Ghost tours run in the building. Ghost Files, the YouTube series with Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej, featured it in "The Nightmare Nuns of St Ignatius," with guest Garrett Watts (2022). Many nuns served here and many residents lived out their lives here, and they are remembered as real people. TAPS also investigated it in a Ghost Hunters episode, "The Myth of St. Ignatius".
Building is closed to the public except on scheduled ghost tours and events; do not enter on your own. The pin marks the hospital building.
