Cynthiana's Rohs Opera House began in 1871 as Aeolian Hall, and the theater was rebuilt as the "new" Rohs in 1941. Co-owner Phillip Nickerson has spoken publicly about the building's resident spirits, and the Rohs promotes its haunting through a paranormal page on its website, ghost walks and investigations. The Bio Channel's My Ghost Story featured the Rohs. Reported activity includes footsteps, voices and shadowy figures backstage and in the balcony. The theater still hosts shows and events, and its owners treat its ghost stories as part of its appeal.
Theater and event venue in downtown Cynthiana. See a show, or look at the Rohs' site for ghost walks and investigation nights; hours depend on the schedule.
