Opened in 1923 as a Spanish Colonial-style resort that later hosted guests like Clark Gable and Judy Garland, the Ojai Valley Inn served as a hospital for wounded WWII soldiers before returning to resort use. Guests in Room 5 report a lingering odor and banging from the closet, sometimes followed by a foul smell when the door is opened, and a ghostly, well-dressed man has been seen in the lobby along with shadowy figures elsewhere in the building and grounds. Staff accounts include a security guard and a housekeeper who both reportedly quit mid-shift after encountering something they couldn't explain.
Operates as a working luxury resort hotel open to guests.
