Local guides say the Kellogg family is still present in the house, including a group of schoolchildren on a field trip who saw drawers in the dining room open and close on their own; Ghost Files visited in "The Disembodied Voices of Helen's Home" (2025), the house was the subject of a 2020 Creepy AF: Paranormal episode, and the museum runs ghost tours led by a historian and paranormal investigator along with overnight investigations. Hiram Clay Kellogg built this Neoclassical Victorian in 1898 as one of the first of its kind in Orange County; after his first wife died he built the mansion as a gift for his second wife, Helen. Hiram died here in 1921 and Helen lived on in the house until 1963. The Heritage Museum of Orange County now preserves it on its 12-acre grounds.
