Students and staff at the college's McAlpin Theater describe a tall, lanky figure they call Lenny, often glimpsed in a bluish mist near the broom closet stage-left or in the sound and light booth, sometimes watching performances from the president's box. Reports include a sudden, sharp temperature drop and goosebumps when he appears, spotlights and backstage radios that act up on their own, and a slow, labored gait to his walk. A local story ties Lenny to a 1960s murder in the broom closet, supposedly followed by the killer's suicide, but no record of any such event has been found in local archives.
