Dating to the 1830s-40s and also known as Pierce Cemetery, St. Joseph Cemetery, and several other names over the years, this true pioneer cemetery behind William Henry Harrison High School holds early area settlers and veterans of the 1811-12 battles, including Tippecanoe. Years of vandalism have left many headstones broken or missing despite restoration efforts. Visitors describe a feeling of being followed or watched, gravestones said to have moved between visits, and crying or moaning heard on some nights.
