The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center preserves the Hartford home of the author of Uncle Tom's Cabin. Stowe attended séances and put a ghost story in her novel, and staff report footsteps and window shades moving on their own; the house appears in Ghost Hunters' episode guide for 2010. The center runs an October after-hours tour.
House museum with timed tours on select days.
