The Flamingo opened in 1946 and is the Strip's oldest surviving resort. It is closely associated with the mobster Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel, who helped build it and was shot to death in Beverly Hills in June 1947, less than a year after it opened. The Wall Street Journal listed the Flamingo among the ten most haunted sites in America, and guests and staff say Siegel's spirit is seen near the wedding chapel, around the pool and in the presidential suite, with reports of cold spots, voices and a feeling of being watched.
Operating casino resort on the Strip, open to the public around the clock.
