A band that rehearsed on the second floor of Finn Hall in the early hours reported knocking on the doors and walls, running footsteps in the corridors, and children giggling with no children in the building. Finns began arriving in Rocklin around 1880 to work the granite quarries, and the town's Finnish Temperance Society built the hall in 1905 at the corner of Rocklin Road and South Grove Street, with granite for its steps and foundation donated by Finnish quarry owners. The walls came down in a windstorm during construction and were rebuilt. For decades the hall carried the town's social life, with graduations, school programmes, dances, fraternal meetings and the society women's quilting parties. Finn Hall is now home to the Rocklin Community Theatre.
